Tom ChapinTom Chapin

Through 40 years, 22 CDs, eight GRAMMY nominations, three GRAMMY awards, and thousands of live performances, Tom Chapin has entertained, amused and enlightened audiences of all ages. A pioneer in the field of children’s music, he is also a respected singer/songwriter and powerful advocate for the Arts in Education. Billboard Magazine calls him, “The best family artist around,” and The New York Times, “One of the great personalities in contemporary folk music.” In his varied career, Chapin has appeared on Broadway as Jim in the hit musical Pump Boys and Dinettes and off-Broadway as musical director of Cotton Patch Gospel and Harry Chapin: Lies & Legends. In film, he created the music for the award-winning shark documentary Blue Water, White Death and had a cameo role as Vice President Edward Nelson in the 2004 remake of The Manchurian Candidate. On television Chapin hosted the ABC Emmy & Peabody award-winning children’s show Make A Wish and the documentary series National Geographic Explorer. He is a contributor to National Public Radio’s Morning Edition, creating and performing topical songs poking fun at social and scientific trends in the news. Phil GaldstonPhil Galdston

Phil Galdston is a songwriter/producer whose work has appeared on nearly 70 million records and on the soundtracks of numerous films and TV programs. His words and music have graced recordings by such artists as Yolanda Adams, America, Beyoncé, Brandy, Celine Dion, Cher, Chicago, Marc Cohn, Sheryl Crow, Kurt Elling, Aaron Neville, Esperanza Spalding, and Vanessa Williams, who has recorded many of his songs, including “Save the Best For Last.” Phil has received the Grand Prize of the American Song Festival, four ASCAP awards (including Song of the Year), the “Time For Peace Award”, two Nashville Songwriters’ Association citations, and Cable ACE, DOVE Award, and five GRAMMY nominations. Overall, his work has been featured on 14 GRAMMY-nominated or winning records. Phil was recently appointed the first member of the Songwriting Faculty and the first Faculty Songwriter-in-Residence in New York University’s history. He is the founder, curator, and moderator of the Songwriters Hall of Fame Master Sessions at NYU.
